How We Farm Sustainably

Establishing Clover Varieties

Clover returns nitrogen into the ground, which is absorbed by the trees. More nitrogen in the ground decreases the need for applied nitrogen, as well as reducing diesel fuels and emissions. Different varieties of clover create in different bloom cycles, which is important for the bee community.

The bees pollinate and make honey from the clover and the pecan trees, giving the honey a distinct flavor.

Increased Disease Resistance

We have two varieties of our trees that are more disease resistant than older varieties. This allows for fewer fungicides to be used, which also decreases diesel and fuel emissions.
